Three-port optical fiber circulator is a kind of non-anisotropic optical device, and light can only travel in one direction. If the signal is input from Port 1, it will be output from Port 2, and if the signal is input from Port 2, it will be output from Port 3, with very little loss in the output. When light is input from Port 2, it loses a lot when it is output from Port 1, just as it loses a lot when light is input from Port 3 and output from Port 1 and 2.

When light is input from port 1, the light is output from port 2 almost without loss;

When light is input from port 2, the light is output from port 3 almost without loss;

When the light is input from port 2, the light will be output from port 1 with great loss;

When the light is input from port 3, the light will be output from port 2 and port 1 with great loss.The fiber optic circulator is a non-reciprocal device, which means that any change in properties caused by light passing through the device cannot be retained when passing through the opposite direction.
